Staying safe when making digital content online
I want to talk to you today about ensuring you stay as safe as you can online while earning money for yourself and your business. I'm concentrating on the digital goodies aspect of our jobs.
For starters, the absolute must is to ensure your location is turned off when making and editing any content you create to sell.
Secondly, I cannot stress to you enough how important it is for both your peace of mind and security to invest in a VPN. A VPN will alter your IP address, location and even work across multiple devices.
(I currently use express VPN which protects m against multiple devices and they offer a yearly or monthly fee)
Never and I mean never give anyone your personal details, hometown, workplace or anything that can link to you. No matter how good the terms you're on with someone don't put yourself or your family at risk.
As tempting as it may be never use any pictures for your business that are anyway associated with your real-life online world, that's FB, insta, twitter you name it. Images can be searched online and it will expose you if found.
When creating your content be sure to check your background, make sure there are no family pictures, personal information, anything that can tie you to your business.
When I create content I have a corner I can easily move things out of, pictures I can take down with ease, and plain ordinary walls to help me stand out against!
Declutter your shooting space, find a space dedicated to content creation (possibly in a room visitors don't go in) but truly I find minimizing the objects in your frame will give a cleaner more polished and secure aspect to your business!
Remember ladies and lads your security is key to your peace of mind, safety and business! Don't take short cuts.. don't take risks.. be smart be safe!
