Bored of Selling?
Are you bored of selling yet? Or trying to sell?
The truth is that after the honeymoon period where panty selling is all new and shiny, things can get hella boring, hella quick.
But a quick search on Google will show you that most people get bored and fall out of love with their business - not just panty sellers! It's kinda just what happens once the monotony sets in.
It's like the 7 year itch, except sometimes it happens quicker than you'd like.
So, what can you do?
How can you rekindle the relationship and rediscover the spark?
Well, here are a few things you can do if you find that you're bored and uninspired and generally feeling pretty meh about your business.
First of all, you can remind yourself why you're doing this.
For me, I love being my own boss and having the freedom to be creative and make money.
What's your big why?
What do you enjoy most about this work (when you did used to love it)? Does it boost your self-confidence or enhance your sex life? Or do you just like the cash? (Nothing wrong with that.)
I'd recommend you write a list to really tune in to what it is that you enjoy most out of the work.
Next up, can you switch up your style? Can you decide to niche into a new area that brings a breath of fresh air into your biz? What about learning something new to do with the work? Learning new things that can enhance what you do and bring in more cash can be SERIOUSLY motivating. Whenever I read a new sales book I'm always eager to get to work implementing what I've learned. You can always listen to The Panty Selling Podcast for ideas!
Next thing to help you fall back in love with your business is deciding to go BIGGER! Yes, it's possible you're stagnating. If you're feeling uninspired you need a bigger goal. What would happen if you had to earn an extra 10-30% more next month? How would you pull that out the bag? Thinking creatively to achieve a goal can help to breathe new life into your business. I more than doubled my income goal and it changed the game!
How about revisiting testimonials or reviews? Maybe you don't have many to go on but if you do, even if it's only a handful, read them over to remind yourself that you have customers who truly love what you do. You're making an impact, even if you don't feel it.
Whilst you're at it, what is it that motivates you? What is it that keeps you showing up? Is it the extra income for your family? Is it the desire from men? What is it? Once you know what motivates you, you're in a better position to keep reinforcing that.
Take a break. Seems counter-intuitive but sometimes we've been doing so much we really just need a break. Imagine if you were with your partner ALLLLLLL the time. Dig? We need time away from some things to really appreciate them. That goes for your business too.
Get to the root. Are you starting to feel more than just meh about your business? Are you starting to dread it or finding yourself procrastinating instead of working? Could be that there is an easy fix somewhere. Maybe there's an aspect of your work that you could outsource or drop altogether. Identify what it is that's dragging your energy down.
Do things differently. Chances are you've fallen into a bit of a rut with your business. Kind of like a relationship where you never do anything new or try anything different. You've got to keep things interesting. Sometimes you'll be inspired by what other sellers are doing and sometimes you'll come up with ideas of your own. Don't be afraid to experiment and keep things interesting.
What about you? Any other ideas for keeping the business romance alive?
